Next Session: Talk to the Doc!
Saturday March 12th, 9–11:30 am
Do you feel like you never have enough time with you pediatric rheumatlogist? Did you remember that “one last question” the moment the office visit was over? Or perhaps you have bigger picture questions about the current state of research, why and how certain medications work together, or side effects.
We will be bringing in pediatric rheumatologists to answer all those lingering questions you may have. The doctors will be spending time with all of the breakout groups to make sure that everyone gets ample time!
In 2013, JAA began co-funding a groundbreaking, award-winning support group program at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Seeing firsthand this program’s enormous benefit to patients and families, JAA partnered with its creators to develop FamilyRheum, which we plan to expand to more areas.
FamilyRheum Orange County is made possible thanks to generous grant funding from the DevTo Support Foundation.
Sessions are held once every other month from 9–11:30 a.m. at the offices of Judicate West. There will be separate discussion groups for younger children, older teens, and parents (including a group for Spanish speaking parents).
Each session focuses on a specific aspect of life with a rheumatic illness. Children 5-10 years old and siblings may participate in an arts and crafts program led by our partner, CoachArt.
Your family is welcome to come to one or all of the sessions. There is no cost to attend. Light food and beverages will be provided.
Judicate West is generously donating its facilities to host FamilyRheum. The offices are on the 16th floor of the Xerox Center Building between 1st St. and 4th St. on Cabrillo Park Drive.
