Juvenile Arthritis Association is the only nonprofit dedicated exclusively to the 300,000 children in the U.S. battling pediatric rheumatic diseases— and the families fighting alongside them. Join Us.
Defined broadly, juvenile arthritis encompasses a family of diverse autoimmune diseases that can cause pain and inflammation in virtually any part of the body.
explore the diseaseJuvenile Arthritis Association (JAA) was founded by parents and doctors to address the major areas of need in pediatric rheumatology. We have experienced firsthand the isolation that children and families often feel living with these diseases, the lack of public awareness, the critical dearth of funding for medical training and research, and the destabilizing toll that these issues take on the entire family. In response, JAA has distilled its mission into four essential components: Community, Awareness, Research and Empowerment. Together, these form the acronym CARE, and we can’t imagine a better word to describe what we do.
FamilyRheum is a unique and dynamic program that provides support and education to children, teens and parents living with pediatric rheumatic diseases. We provide a safe and fun environment where kids and families can find out more about their conditions, share experiences, and learn to live successfully with a chronic illness.
